WHY US

Clean green lawnmowing goal is to provide lawn care and garden maintenance services following the 3 R’s principle. We are continuously looking at ways to reduce our carbon footprint in our daily work routine out and about, on site and back in the office. Because Waiheke Island has no landfill site we need to be conscious of the carbon footprint produced by transporting products off island.

We use recycled vegetable oil to lubricate chainsaws and have moved from printed paper job sheets and invoices to using email and tablet computers and ipads for scheduling our daily client list.

HOW WE DO IT

Lawn clippings are either mulched back into the cut lawn or if catcher mowed they are composted into a rich garden fertilizer. Green waste from hedge clipping and light tree trimming becomes mulch and larger tree branches become firewood. Where possible we encourage homeowners to stockpile organic material from garden clean ups on site, in a discreet location. This helps avoid unnecessary transport especially for Palm fronds, Flax, Toi toi and other organics that can not be mulched.
